on表示“在物體的表面上”；通常用作介詞，表示在...上；向，朝等含義。用作副詞，表示向前（移動）；用作形容詞，表示在進行的，在發(fā)生的等含義。

　　The spider is walking on the ceiling.

　　二.用作副詞，表示向前（移動），進行著等含義。

　　Put your coat on.

　　Move on!

　　向前走！

　　She worked quietly all night.

　　她整個晚上默默地繼續(xù)工作。

　　三.用作形容詞，表示在進行的，在發(fā)生的等含義。

　　The televisionw set was on.

　　電視機開著。

　　The light were all full on.

　　燈火通明。

　　四.注意in與on的使用

　　on表示“在物體的表面上”，而in表示“在其中”。只能用in的表達方式有in the morning，in the afternoon，in the evening和in the night。只能用on的表達方式有on the next morning，on the following afternoon，on the preceding evening，on the night before等。
